This is what makes Garfield’s Evenings for the
Curious speaker series the hottest tickets of the season. The series
provides five opportunities for relaxed discussions in private homes with
remarkable people. At these five evening salons, subscribers gather at 7:00 PM
to share wine and light hors d’oeuvres. The intellectual entrée begins at 7:30
PM and is followed by open discussion and dessert.

The line-up for the
2013-14 speaker series is shaping up to be just as exciting as past years.

KC Golden, one of Seattle Magazine's "Power 25" most influential people,
and its #1 "Eco-Hero," is also a recipient of the 2012 Heinz Award for Public Policy for
his lifetime achievement as a climate advocate and policy architect.
·
Neal Stephenson, author of the three-volume historical
epic “The Baroque Cycle” (Quicksilver, The Confusion,
and The System of the World) and the novels Cryptonomicon,
The Diamond Age, Snow Crash, Zodiac, and Anathem.

Corky Luster, founder of Ballard Bee Company, rebuilds declining honeybee populations by
managing over 135 beehives in urban backyards as well as agricultural areas.
In 2011 he won the national AMD “Visionary of the Year Award”
(Foodie Category) for his work with honeybees in urban spaces.
· Eric Wetzel, rocket scientist and head architect at Blue
Origin, the local company developing technologies for space tourism. Eric will
discuss “space junk”, the high tech debris orbiting earth.

subscriptions will be sold to this April 2012 through February 2013 series,
with the lectures happening in April,
May, October and November 2013 with the last lecture in February 2014.
